At Homeschool Special Ed Consultant; I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible families, helping them navigate the unique challenges of homeschooling children with special needs. Each journey is different, but the goal is always the same—to provide support, confidence, and solutions that help children thrive. Here’s what some of the families I’ve worked with have to say about their experience.

💙 A Brighter Future for Our Son

✅ Homeschooling Legally & Confidently
“Not only are we homeschooling legally now, (big relief) but we now have a good and doable plan with clearly set goals, which I really needed. So, Homeschool friends, in Oregon–please keep her in mind if you meet someone home schooling a child with special needs. :). “

🧩 The “Autism Whisperer”
“For over twenty years Patty McCarty has worked with my daughter, Susan. I think of her as the ‘autism whisperer.’ She was instrumental in finding the correct diagnosis for my daughter and then worked together with me to create a PDP that was realistic, but optimized my daughter’s capabilities. She saw my daughter’s potential and formulated a plan to help her reach it. When the therapists put a ceiling on Susie’s abilities; Patty helped her exceed it. She sees a diagnosis as simply a way of describing the way a child learns and uses it to create an effective teaching plan.”

💖 A Trusted and Compassionate Educator
“Adam and I have been blessed to know Patty for 16 years. I fully trust Patty. She is very compassionate, loving, and sensitive to the needs of her students. Patty looks beyond their disabilities. I would never doubt her. She can help with to the special needs of your children.”

🌟 Guidance Through the ADHD Journey
“When my son was diagnosed with ADHD, Patty was enormously helpful to our family. She carefully read over the documents from the psychologist and helped us have some perspective on what we were reading. As a result we were far more able to deal with the child study committee at his school and to understand what they were suggesting to improve his likelihood for success. Because her experience with so many children and families is both broad and deep, she was a skilled guide for us during a very stressful time in our son’s life. THANKS, PATTY!”

I have to tell you how happy, pleased and excited Francis’ parents were about your work. They thought you were incredibly gentle, sweet and good with Francis. Now they are optimistic and have your assessment to use with homework and school interventions! Thank you so much – you are a God send!

Hi, Patty,
I just wanted to say thank you again for inviting me to the meeting today. It was great to meet more of the team. I really appreciate just how authentic you are and as a new teacher it is very reassuring to see compassionate teachers like yourself in the profession. While I heard you say you are retiring this year, I just felt I needed to let you know that even in the little over an hr I heard from you today, I can see you clearly have made an impact and are still causing that inspiration for both students, families, and staff. You are appreciated!!! 🙂
